Deception

As much as I dislike Obama's positions, I have to admit I like him as a person. He's charismatic, articulate and thoughtful, but that's just the problem. Obama has so much charisma that he causes many people to look past the issues. In fact, I have found myself agreeing with him many times. I too want hope, change and unity. By continually harping on these issues, Obama conveniently sidesteps the issues. Just watch this video and you'll know what I mean.

Obama says many inspirational things in this video:
  1. Yes we can to justice and equality.
  2. Yes we can to opportunity and prosperity.
  3. Yes we can heal this nation.
  4. Yes we can repair this world.
After seeing this video, I felt like voting for Obama, although I agree with almost none of his positions. I know I am not alone. Americans have been deceived by this brilliant man, for indeed he is brilliant. He has fooled so many into believing his mantra that we have forgotten to ask what these inspirational quotes actually mean. What does he actually want to do? How does Obama plan on changing our country?

I know! I feel the same way! I've found myself wishing that he were Republican and that I actually liked any of his positions. Great blog, Nate! Keep it up!!

hi Nate

If you wre willing to actually learn Obama's reasons for his positions, you would understand it is not just rhetoric. You do not have to agree with everything, but expanding your frame of reference, and reconciling subsequent questions is the means by which we grow. Unfortunately, you sound pretty dogmatic too me. Or, maybe you are just a douche.

Brendan, the fact is that I agree with almost nothing the man says. This post was not meant to define the issues he stands for, but to point out that many of his followers seem to be following him blindly without knowing what he stands for. You sound like you know Obama's positions. I think many of his supporters don't. They want, hope, change and unity but they have no clue what those vague phrases entail.

Amen to that. People fail to realize both parties want the same things, they just disagree on how to get there. If people fully understood that Barack Obama's philosophies of big-government, big-spending socialism, ran contrary to our founding fathers belief in a free society, free of government intervention and the redistribution of wealth. I think they would think differently. No man knows better what to do with my hard earned dollars than myself and it should be that way for all America.

Wow.... What a cool video. You gotta give him props for being creative. But you're right. There's no substance up under the amazingly cool facade. By the way, Mike (below)isn't totally right. We don't all want the same thing. That's why the deception that people like Obama peddle is so dangerous. They lead some many to believe in a "hope" that is fundamentally false, and then deliver only on their own blind ambition.
